Arbitrary title. I just have this song stuck in my head - because it came from an earlier thought at about 7:30 a.m. - the thought in my head went something like this:
"I got 4 felonies and 11 misdemeanors...and it ain't all that bad." (OK, so, in fact, I would never, ever, in a million years, have a thought with the word "ain't" in it because, well, it's just bad grammar...but I took some creative license...)
Anyway, that led to the "I got two turntables and a microphone!" song. And now, it's stuck in my head, but of course the only part of the song I can remember is that exact phrase...no other lyrics are popping up. I should Google that, for real!
The 4 felonies and 11 misdemeanors turned out all either pleading guilty or getting dismissed! WOO HOO!!! - No trials next week...which makes me feel so much less guilty about taking a tiny little road trip one state north to visit my Mercer homies for an adult slumber party!!! It's my Alpha Gam buddies - Melissa, Brittany & Lisa (dear sweet little sis...) - and my non-sorority related, but bruddah from anodah muddah, Sooz - was supposed to come, but she's actually killed her back and can't make it. Boo on that.
Funny picture of me at the Junior Service League Christmas Party:
Courtesy of my friend Kay. Thanks, Kay. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm in Jennifer Bagby's hallway. I think I must be practicing my moves for our upcoming FOLLIES 2009 show!!!
Speaking of which, here's a little shameless plug. Follies is a broadway-esque type show that JSL puts on in odd-numbered years to raise money for our various causes. It will take place Feb. 6 and 7 at 8 p.m. at the Rome City Auditorium. Tickets are $15, general admission; $5 children 12 and under; and $50 patron ticket. All the proceeds this year will benefit the Hospitality House, Harbor House and The Sexual Assault Center of Rome. For ticket and show information, see http://www.follies2009.com/ or call 706-238-8261.
I HAVE TICKETS FOR SALE IF ANYONE WANTS SOME!!! Come see me and all the other jr. leaguers be silly on stage! It's an excellent party, too - good times, right here in River City!
(Shameless plug is over now, unglaze your eyes and start paying attention again!)
So - today is Yolanda day. WE LOVE YOLANDA DAY!!! (For the non-faithful readers, Yolanda (a.k.a. Yo-ho-ho & a bottle of rum - my endearing nickname for her...)) is my house-cleaner.) I so cannot afford Yolanda right now. At $80 a pop, it's a major splurge - but on the other hand, who ELSE is going to scrub my toilets willingly? And, honestly? I don't know how other working-single-mommies get their house to stay clean. Particularly adding in furry friends and sticky juice boxes. And tonight my Rome beeeotches are coming over for dinner. With wine. What good friends.
Here are some silly questions - come on, entertain me! It's almost FRIDAY!!!
1. Is there anyone from your past that you wish you could get back in touch with, or at least just find with Google to see what s/he is up to? WHO???
2. What was your favorite Saturday AM cartoon (or whatever TV show) as a child?
3. Tell me the thing that last made you laugh. Like a real hard belly laugh!!!
1. Is there anyone from your past that you wish you could get back in touch with, or at least just find with Google to see what s/he is up to? WHO??? Yes. My senior prom date. I don't know WHY...I have nothing to say to him, I just wonder if he turned out to be as brilliant as I clearly thought he was back in the olden days.
ReplyDelete2. What was your favorite Saturday AM cartoon (or whatever TV show) as a child?
Oooohhh, I have a TON. HeMan & SheRa, Thundercats (HO!), Shirttails, (I hated Smurfs, for the record...they creeped me out.), The Muppets & Fraggle Rock, Calliope, Muncheechees (or however that's spelled), Transformers, the cartoon, Snorks
3. Tell me the thing that last made you laugh. Like a real hard belly laugh!!!
There is this guy who works in another "legal" type capacity that I see at the courthouse sometimes. He's very, shall we say, effeminate. Yesterday, I was wearing a navy skirt with white polka dots and a navy sweater/jacket with a little placket at the top with white polka dots, too. CUTE outfit. beige pantyhose & navy heels. He says to me (in the courtroom) - "Those navy pumps are FIERCE! It's SO hard to find navy dress shoes that don't look so dowdy! And what other color would you wear with navy...I mean, it's such a connundrum. (yes he said connundrum. in a sentence!) You can't wear black because it is too close, and looks like you got dressed in the dark, but brown looks silly, and you can't wear bone or ivory (yes, bone or ivory) because your shoes should always be darker than your hemline...By the way, JJ, I always love your outfits. You always look SO put together."
Giggle giggle. This was a M-A-N...he either needs to come on out of that dark dark closet or turn in his man card.
1. I have found a lot of people I wondered about on Facebook, but I'm still very curious what's going on with my AGD little sisters...
ReplyDelete2. Oh man, I can't really think of any Saturday am cartoons but I LOVED Sliver Spoons, Punky Bruster and of course The Cosby Show.
3. I laugh almost daily at things Henry is saying. The most recent being "sha-ka-boody" (Shake your Booty) out of the blue one night.
1. Yes, at one time I thought he might actually "like" me, but I wasn't ready for that so close after he who shall not be named. AND I found him on facebook, single, but too far away and not pursuing me... * sigh * It was fun to find him.
ReplyDelete2. I grew up in another country in another century television wise. So I only really remember Sam's saturdays...Mighty Morphing Power Rangers, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life. Although before kids He who shall not be named and I liked Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles,a nd Bill Nye the Science Guy.
3. A first grader (my favorite and a friend of mine's kid) said this morning that someone had put my behavior "card" on red, who was it? and more importantly what did I do. I told him I wasn't even at school, so I couldn't have done anything wrong. He was really quite concerned that my Mom might not get me a prize this friday...Anyway come to find out it was HIS SISTER who did it, and she is the shyest, most unassuming child...I told the little one this and the look on his face was totally blank, like he could not fathom that she would actually do that to me.....Maybe you had to be there to see his face.
1. Can't think of anyone. Maybe there's someone still in my future??
ReplyDelete2. Definitely the Jetsons. If EVER you see it on DVD - let me know - they never rerun them so figure they must be "lost" or something.
3. I laughed so much these Kioloa holidays that I think it's already a years worth. Can't even remember what things were so damn funny!
