Did ya miss me?

I'm sick. STILL!!! I rarely EVER get sick, so this is strange. Turns out I apparently have "walking pneumonia" - but I'm on the antibiotic regimen now so I should be feeling better any minute...

Since I've been in a haze for a couple days, I'm way behind at work, at home, and with my peeps...so, today, I'm going to ask YOU to answer some questions for me. I'll answer my own in the comment section - you should, too...

1. How is your week thusfar?
2. What is one thing that someone did for you that was really nice?
3. What did YOU do for someone this week that was really nice?
4. What's on tap for YOUR weekend?
5. Do you make your bed every day?
6. What did you have for dinner last night?
7. Is the gas price madness KILLING you or what?
8. Tell me something funny. I need it today.

  1. 1. How is your week thusfar?
I've been out of it - with being sick. The kids have been pretty ok, but this morning was madness trying to get everything and everyone out of the house with everything they need for the weekend (they're going to AL this weekend!)

    2. What is one thing that someone did for you that was really nice?
Mr. Bill in my office went and saw some folks at the jail so I could handle other things...I really appreciate it!!!

    3. What did YOU do for someone this week that was really nice?
I didn't do anything particularly nice, but I arranged my schedule so that I will have the kids to allow their Dad to go to a wedding, but that wasn't overly nice, he would've done the same for me. I wrote some notes to people I appreciate and have been thinking of often...I bought lunch for someone. I tried to raise some money for Jr. League (but I haven't succeeded yet...)

    4. What's on tap for YOUR weekend?
    - getting well
    - dinner with an exclusive group of folks on Friday ;)
    - cleaning up the house on Saturday AM
    - watching football!!!
    - 1st annual Rome Beer Festival to benefit RACA (woohoo)
    - possibly dancing later Saturday night...if I'm feeling better.

    5. Do you make your bed every day?
In the morning? I'd say no. I make it probably 5 out of 7 days in the morning, but I always make it before I get into it at night. (As a side note, we change all our sheets on Sundays...;))

    6. What did you have for dinner last night?
Wheat thins and roasted garlic hummus. Being sick has curbed my appetite.

    7. Is the gas price madness KILLING you or what?
Well, it sucks. But, I can't do anything about it - I live a long way from town, and have to drive kidlets to AL a fair bit, so such is life. I just try to limit/combine trips.

    8. Tell me something funny. I need it today.
Hmmm...Carson is the star student of the week. On her "I'm a STAR" poster she had to list why she's a star. "Because I'm the only one like me. There is NO ONE IN THE WHOLE BIG WORLD that is funny like me." This isn't that funny, but it rings completely true. She is who she is and she owns it. LOVE HER!

  2. 1. How is your week thusfar?
Strange, I just had a meeting where a lady stomped out crying.. and I had a student cuss me out for physical plant repaving 'his' parking lot....

    2. What is one thing that someone did for you that was really nice?
My coworker took the project with the crying lady - thanks Sharon!

    3. What did YOU do for someone this week that was really nice?
I put together all of 'J's IKEA furniture (he calls me Geppetto's daughter as my dad is a part time carpenter) But its not my fault that 'J' is severly challgened when it comes to following the picture instructions of the Swedish.

    4. What's on tap for YOUR weekend?
Still unpacking and organizing my new digs. We moved into a town house that is great!

    5. Do you make your bed every day?
Nope, 'J' gets up after me so if it is not done it is his fault!

    6. What did you have for dinner last night? I had fruit loops b/c I was too tired from unpacking to cook anything. But in my defense I had made a roast the day before and was still too lazy to reheat it...

    7. Is the gas price madness KILLING you or what?
Its not too bad for me as I only work 10 min. from my NEW TOWNHOUSE!

    8. Tell me something funny. I need it today. Well it would have been funny to be a fly on the wall in my bedroom when Logan found a scorpion on the floor and I freaked out and 'J' wondered why I was spazzing. Apparently scorpions are very common household 'bugs' in south Mex. but this GA girl is not used to them. So we have a happy balance, I'll build the furniture and he is the bug/scary critter killer.... life is good!

    Miss you bird!

  3. This is fun!
    1. How is your week thusfar?
Busy but good. Kids have been sick so that sucks esp. at night when one or both wake up hacking for 20 minutes. Last night I didn't wake up at all until ^J^ was pushing on my feet with his saying "I don't know what time it is". So I jumped out of bed and realized I had 20 minutes to get to work. Luckily he agreed to bring the kids later after he got them up and ready.

    2. What is one thing that someone did for you that was really nice?
My MIL came for a visit yesterday and she took us to this really nice resturant. Then when she left today she took AJ with her to spend the night since we're coming down this weekend.

    3. What did YOU do for someone this week that was really nice?
Paid for my MIL's lunch today, took my neighbor's kids for a playdate since she had a migrane and her husband was out of town.

    4. What's on tap for YOUR weekend?
Down to GA: One night at my mom's, consignment sale and check on the house on Saturday, spend the night at ^J^'s parent's house Saturday and neice's b-day party Sunday ( can you belive she's 3 already?!)

    5. Do you make your bed every day?
Hell no! Usually on the weekends though.

    6. What did you have for dinner last night? From the yummy fancy place: Citrus glazed salmon with pine nuts, goat cheese and fingerling potatoes. Shared a chocolate torte for dessert. YUM!

    7. Is the gas price madness KILLING you or what? Well since we don't drive much up here, it hasn't affected us too badly, but our trip to GA this weekend will be brutal.

    8. Tell me something funny. I need it today. Hmmm, I'm not sure if this is funny. I can't think of anything else. Last night at dinner ^J^ informed me he had to supply snacks for all 75 people in the seminary community today. I basically wished him good luck with that and as he's coming up with all these "solutions" (making homemade donuts, homemade biscuits, etc.) I said "Why don't we pick up a couple of boxes of Little Debbies and a box of Cheese-Its on the way home?" So that's what we did. *sigh*...Men.

    Love you!

  4. 1. How is your week thusfar? Sucky. I forgot to pay my water bill and I genuinely thought I had paid Aug. Sept is due 24th. And they CUT IT OFF! What! Now they want $100 to cut it back on plus Aug and Sept.

    2. what is the one thing that someone did for you that was really nice? Well I came down the hall at school and a lottery ticket was on my art cart! Wow I thought, God answered that prayer quickly (see #1). But then I found out someone found it in the parking
lot and it was not a winner either!! Iguess the thought was nice.

3.What did you do for someone this week that was really nice. One teacher (my age - which means completely computer illiterate)called at 700 as she could not get on a site whe have to go to for an inservice questionaire. 30 min later she still couldn't type in the address (augh) this combined with the lack of water and teh heating in the microwave of bottled water to wash my hair...was an interesting 30 min. BUt I remained calm and talked her thru it. She just called it is now 830 and she finally finished the inservice questions!!!!

    4. Whats on Tap for your weekend. Nothing....nope,,,nada,,,nothing.mmm

5.I do! but I use a duvet so I just pull it up every morning, Heidi goes for a ride on it. Also I am selling my house so I try to do what I can before I leave in the am.

6.what did I have for dinner last night. some left over chips and salsa from Los Portales (local mexican)

7.Gas Prices...not too bad,, I work about 5 mi from home. So if I don't go anywhere else, I'm good. But when I run out, generally my cash has run out too!!!

    8.Something funny...
I was talking to preK about our faces and the parts of our faces, where are your eyes, nose, mouth, show me your ears. Of course all 20 3-4 year olds are screaming "here ,look here". I get to hair and ask "do all of us have long hair?" They answer in unison "YES" I say what? and go to a kid and say does .... have long hair? "No" Then a little girl pulls on my shirt and looks right at me with a surprised look and says "I have hair!!!!!" wow like she never knew it!
